This book, has been published to serve the needs of the Senior High School students who will be taking up General Chemistry under the STEM Strand. Serving as a preparatory subject for General Chemistry2, this course conforms to the content and performance standards mandated in the DepEd Curriculum Guide as well as to the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs). There are four taken up in this course. To enhance students' understanding of the fundamentals of Chemistry, interactive activities, laboratory experiments, computational problems, and other manipulative and research activities have been included in this textbook. In the end, it is sincerely hoped that the students will find optimum advantage of this instructional material in developing their scientific knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values- in order to develop among themselves citizens who are critical/creative problem solvers, responsible stewards of nature, innovative/inventive thinkers, and informed decision makers.
